Lean Beef & Broccoli
Classic beef and broccoli made with lean sirloin and a lighter sauce — all the flavor of your favorite takeout at a fraction of the fat and sodium.
Ingredients
- 12 ozlean beef sirloin(thinly sliced against the grain)
- 4 cupsbroccoli florets
- 3 tbsplow-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbspoyster sauce
- 2 tspbrown sugar
- 2 tspcornstarch
- 1/2 cupbeef broth(low sodium)
- 3 clovesgarlic(minced)
- 1 tspfresh ginger(grated)
- 1 tspsesame oil
- 1 tbspavocado oil
Instructions

Combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and beef broth in a bowl to make the sauce.

Marinate sliced beef in 2 tbsp of the sauce for 10 minutes.

Blanch broccoli in boiling salted water for 2 minutes, then drain and set aside.

Heat avocado oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.

Add beef in a single layer and sear for 1–2 minutes per side without moving. Remove and set aside.

Add garlic and ginger to the pan and cook for 30 seconds.

Pour the remaining sauce into the pan and bring to a simmer.

Return beef and broccoli to the pan. Toss to coat and cook for 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens.

Drizzle sesame oil, and serve over cauliflower rice or brown rice.

- ✓Blanching broccoli separately keeps it vibrant green and perfectly tender-crisp.
- ✓Use flank steak or skirt steak as an equally lean alternative to sirloin.
